Few venues can rival the incredible backdrop that dwarfs Washougal, the circuit that hosted the eighth round of the 2024 AMA Pro Motocross Championship. Triumph Racing was excited to tackle the hard-pack circuit that is located in the Pacific Northwest, and fortunately, the on-track action did not disappoint.

Jalek Swoll impressed with a consistent performance in moto one – he started in the top 10 aboard his TF-250X and was relentless in his push towards the top five. Swoll had climbed to seventh by the time the chequered flag waved. Such pace was evident in moto two as well, as he stormed to an excellent start and finished in ninth place for eighth overall. The number 33 continues to occupy the same position in both the 250MX and 250SMX championship standings.

Although a poor start threatened to hinder Joey Savatgy in the first 250MX moto, he got his head down and put on an inspirational run toward the front of the pack. The number 17 picked off countless riders and eventually found himself in ninth at the finish – mere seconds separated him from a position in the top six. It was an impressive ride that pushed both man and machine to the limit. A much better start in moto two helped him claim seventh to register a solid 9-7 scorecard. Seventh overall ended up being his final ranking at Washougal.

Triumph Racing will take advantage of a two-week break in the schedule now. The AMA Pro Motocross Championship will resume at Unadilla on August 10.

Jalek Swoll: "It was a decent day! The first moto was okay. I rode decently to finish in seventh – I just didn’t have the best start. The second moto was the opposite. I had a pretty good start and made some good passes. I had a weird moment towards the end and could not maintain the pace. We will make good use of this break and try to be up front at Unadilla."

Joey Savatgy: "It was a tough day! My starts are making life harder than it needs to be. The first moto was chaotic, and I was on the bad end of things. I was stuck behind a downed rider on lap one, but I put on a decent charge. I had a better start in the second moto – I just felt a little bit flat. We need to assess the situation, see where we are at, and then make small gains."
